What does Community Outreach do?
Community Outreach convenes, consults, and catalyzes community-building efforts in the Portland metro area.  We sponsor free events for the community such as Community Conversations, Workshops, Social Gatherings, and Special Events based on community feedback.  We offer free consultation and brainstorming sessions for non-profit and volunteer-driven groups.  We share inspirational stories that foster the spirit of building community.

How is Community Outreach funded?
Our United Villages is independently funded with proceeds of its project, The ReBuilding Center.  The ReBuilding Center is a project of Our United Villages.  The ReBuilding Center focuses on the environmental vitality of communities, whereas Community Outreach focuses on the social vitality of communities.  You can see all the parts of Our United Villages from the Homepage

What area do you work in?
Currently we sponsor activities throughout Portland neighborhood, which are open to anyone interested, based on space accommodation.  Consultations with volunteer groups and non-profits are offered citywide.  Our outreach materials and Community Building Tool Packets are available to everyone, regardless of location.

What is the agenda of Community Outreach?
Our agenda is to encourage people to get to know one another, identify their common interests, and work together to create positive change in their own community.  The topics of sponsored events come directly from Community Feedback.

What are some of the positive outcomes of Community Outreach?
Community Outreach plays a back stage role by providing venues for people to come together and sharing tips and tools we have learned over the years.  One of the greatest outcomes is that people get to know each other better.  We believe that relationships are the foundation of building a vibrant, healthy, connected community.  The ownership of any project belongs to the individuals or groups that initiated, developed, implemented, and maintained that project idea.
