Do you have an idea for a grassroots project in your neighborhood? Come and hear from local organizers about their inspiring grassroots community building projects!

Community Outreach of Our United Villages is sponsoring a FREE Sharing Ideas: Grassroots Projects Started by Neighbors presentation and discussion.  Highlighting the grassroots efforts of neighbors throughout Portland, panelists will take you inside the story of their projects.  You will learn what sparked their idea, the tools and strategies they used to turn their idea into action and future goals for their project.  Ask questions and discover the possibilities for replicating similar projects in your own neighborhood. 

WHAT: Sharing Ideas: Grassroots Projects Started by Neighbors
WHEN: Thursday, March 17th from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
WHERE: Central Northeast Neighbors, 4415 NE 87th Avenue

The community is invited to a FREE interactive workshop, Make a Friend of Your Neighbor, sponsored by Community Outreach of Our United Villages.  Through dialogue and interactive exercises, we will explore ways to meet and create positive and peaceful relationships with your neighbors.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 23th from 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

INVITATION: Community History Storytelling: North Portland

Are you interested in hearing about the history of North Portland communities?  Do you have stories, personal experiences or history that you would like to share?

Community Outreach of Our United Villages is sponsoring a FREE Community History Storytelling event focusing specifically on North Portland communities.  Come and hear featured storytellers who have lived or worked in North Portland as they share stories, personal experiences and community history.  There will also be an opportunity for anyone to share their own experiences and memories of North Portland in an open forum.

WHAT: Community History Storytelling: North Portland
WHEN: Saturday, April 16th from 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM
WHERE: Historic Kenton Firehouse, 8105 N Brandon Street
