What do you consult about?
In a nutshell, we consult about building community. We give away tools and strategies related to topics such as survey & canvassing tools, event logistics, facilitation techniques, inclusive outreach, idea development planning, and hosting neighborhood events. There may be instances where we may refer you to another community resource that is better suited to address the needs, concerns or goals of your project.
Who is eligible?
Consultation and brainstorming sessions are a free resource for non-profit or volunteer-based individuals or groups whose whose efforts bring benefit to the community. For-profit businesses or politically affiliated groups are not eligible. We can meet with religiously affiliated groups as long as the project idea we are consulting about is open to everyone regardless of their faith and background and not promoting one religion over another.
Where do you meet?
In most cases, the individual or group comes to the Community Outreach office at 3625 N. Mississippi Avenue. However, field trips or site visits can be arranged. Please click here for directions to our office.
How long is a consultation session?
We generally meet for one hour. If there are follow-up questions after the sessions, we are available to provide further feedback.
Who conducts the consultation and brainstorming session?
The Community Outreach team meets with the individual or group. We may invite other people from Our United Villages or the community whose input may be of value.
What should I do before coming in?
Please complete the Brainstorming and Consultation Request form above or give us a call at 503.546.7499. You should come prepared to share the vision for your project idea, bring materials you would like feedback on and any questions you have about moving your idea forward.

Do you have an idea to strengthen community,create a more vibrant neighborhood, or a start a project that will benefit the community as a whole?
Community Outreach provides free consultation and brainstorming to individuals and groups working to make a positive difference in the community. We listen, brainstorm, strategize, and give feedback to build capacity for people to turn their ideas into action. We may link you to other people or groups working on similar projects or identify community resources that might bring the idea to fruition. Following the consultation, Community Outreach gives away tools and strategies that are relevant and may be useful for the idea or project.
